I had the fortunate pleasure of meeting Jeanine and Shawn through a friend referral. At our very first meeting we hit it off like we were long time friends. They are an amazing couple and super nice. Not into all the wedding hype, they decided to have a small ceremony at the town hall, however they picked a beautiful location to do their portraits, the Fire Island Lighthouse. It was a crisp October day and the sun was out with spots of clouds. Both of the boys were in these amazing cable knit sweaters, I was kinda jealous cause the were so nice. After pictures we all went back to the Irish Coffee Pub for their reception, which included a surprise cowerson (bagpipers) from the NYPD.
Megan and Steven are this cute little couple that met in collage at Hofstra where I work. For most of their college carrier they worked in the art office and they are wonderful, intelligent, caring people. After they graduated we stay friends via social media until one day they called me because their original photographer had a scheduling conflict. They had the most perfect little Astoria wedding I had ever been to. It was a warm, sunny June day, Megan got ready in the very cute and trendy Paper Factory Hotel. This place has wall to wall chic on ever floor and in every room. Their ceremony was at the historic Trinity Lutheran Church and they topped it all of with a very unique outdoor reception at the Bohemian Hall and Beer Garden. Thank you for letting me be part of your day.
Two years ago I was a second shooter for Katie and Mike’s big day. I remember like it was yesterday how cold it was, how great the light was and how it was such a fun and laid back wedding. Georgio’s was the absolute perfect setting for this event. Just like Katie and Mike it’s classy but with plenty of style, the kind of couple and a venue that would be fantastic to photograph again, and at any time of the year.
It was storybook. Brittney and I headed up to Mahwah NJ in what started out as a dark and rain day. I mean it was coming down in buckets when we got to the hotel, but Erin was so happy and I knew right then that this was going to be a beautiful day. After we photographed Erin getting ready we headed over to the venue and as soon as we got out of he car it started to clear up. PERFECT! The lighting was as pretty as the bride and with a vibrant background of fall leaves we took some amazing portraits. The party lasted through the night in an outdoor tent and a farmhouse barn for dancing while the rain stayed away.
I’ve known Erin for over 10 years. She was a student at Hofstra when I first started working there. We lost touch for a little while after she graduated but then we reconnected while she was in graduate school and during my brief stint employed by C.W. Post. She is an amazing makeup artist and happens to work in the wedding business also. Corey is a musician and while I only met him recently I can see that he is a perfect match for Erin. They are so fun and cute together that it was easy to capture their love. I can’t wait to photograph their wedding later this year!
Laurie and John, aka Flo It All and Abe Drinkin to their roller derby teammates, are such a fun couple. They wanted to do their engagement shoot in the nice white snowfall right before Christmas. While we were able to catch the snow we missed the snowfall by about an hour. We did get some cold rain though, but in the end it was well worth it. I can’t wait for their wedding later this year! And yes there will be roller skating at the wedding!
Chris and Jess are this great couple I photographed with my good friend Liz from White Pear Photography. The wedding day was perfect. The weather, the ceremony and the venue were incredible. We shot their portraits at Old Westbury Gardens and it was just as perfect. I’ll admit it was my first time shooting portraits there and I would recommend it in a heartbeat. They were super cute walking around the grounds and the whole wedding party really completed the day. After portraits we headed over the The Woodlands in Woodbury where the party continued. It really was another great wedding.
